Darcy

Darcy came to us four years ago from World Horse Welfare as a companion for Storm. He is the largest of our horses, standing just over 17 hands – a very gentle giant. He is a Cleveland Bay x Thoroughbred. Cleveland Bays were originally bred as carriage horses and it would be easy to imagine Darcy looking very elegant  taking a lady for an outing.

Darcy is well named, being very handsome and is especially popular with ladies of a certain age. Colin Firth on four legs, according to some!

Darcy adores children and lets them lead him round the field, content to walk at their pace and keeping his head level with theirs. For children it’s a great thrill to lead such a big horse and is a wonderful way to increase their confidence.
